Oh know, yet another bloomin 'what is this frame?' thread.

I still think Sonic is a possibility. I haven't come up with a picture of one, except this messenger bike from Richard's Ultimate Bicycle Book. It's clearly not the same model, but there are plenty of stylistic similarities (and a few differences as well, of course). Unfortunately, the picture doesn't show a huge amount of detail.

Helmut is still in London, and still in the bike trade, though he doesn't custom build any more:

Even if it's not one of his, he might still be able to offer some pointers. I'm certain it's not an Overbury's.

Cheers mon ami, I'll look further into the Sonic connection, frame was sold new in London so it could well be. Im pretty sure Overburys is on the NOT list too.

So, Helmut formerly of Sonic, believes it may have been one of his, however, the original owner used to work with Helmut and is pretty sure it isn't, he seems to recall it being white and having 'Cougar' written on it. Obviously Cougar were high-end road, but it is thought they (Terry Dolan at the time, its changed hands a few times) built a few MTB frames mid 90s.

This is getting complicimated.

(in the mean time, I have decided that a period single speed is missing from the fold so thats what this shall become)
