Well, after the first op giving an inconclusive result i had to under go another one, fortunately they went in the same hole, just making it longer. Which was nice.

Unfortunately, this biopsy returned a positive result for cancer. I saw the Haematologist yesterday and found out that i have not one but two forms of lymphoma, the first is Indolent (low-grade) non-Hodgkins lymphoma, this can remain untreated and lots of people don't even know they have it, the second is Aggressive (high-grade) non-Hodgkins lymphoma and a tad more serious.

The CT scan revealed multiple other "masses" around the body but most are of a small 10-12mm size & the main one is 40mm. The report made for some reading, thank god for google as i couldn't even pronounce some of the terms used.

So next Wednesday i start chemotherapy, every three weeks for the next 18 weeks. This has the lovely name of R-CHOP.

I'd like to thank every one for their kind words & PM's, especially Paul (hamster) who's been great support.

I'm sorry to hear this. I wish you all the success with the chemotherapy, with a positive outlook i'm sure you'll get through :D

over the past couple of years, 2 colleagues have been diagnosed with similar (dont know the details, but non-hodgkins is in there). both have made full recoveries after chemo and (I dont understand the reasons) but both look younger and have a refreshed demeanour (jollier, lots of expensive hols, less stressed). its as if the exceptionally hard time has been rewarded with exceptionally good ??

chin up buddy, get ready for a fight and plan what bike youre getting for afterwards.
