OFFROAD SPORT 1990

I bought this one a couple of months ago as a frame, fork, headset, seat and post. Bit gutted the original steel yellow Flexstem sold on Ebay before I noticed this frame.

The reason I bought it was because it was very nearly my first ever mountain bike. My Dad took me to Hot Pursuit in Totnes, Devon, where I believe they were about £370 new with a 300lx groupset. We settled on a 2nd hand Raleigh Mirage instead though from Paignton Cycles. I ended up working there! Who knows what I'd be doing now if my Dad bought me the Offroad instead? :roll:

So I'm going to build it up slightly upgraded - Alloy Flexstem, Alloy Offroad bars, DX groupset in Black!

What tyres do you have on that - they are also on my wanted list!

I think the tyres are Megabites. I bought the bar cos it came with the 1 1/4" Flexstem I wanted for my A*. I ended up keeping the bar and selling the Flexstem! :facepalm:

TSC on this forum had a 550 brand new when we at school - a long time ago! Nice bike - good luck with your build.

Nice, from York cycleworks.... remember drooling over the flexstem, proper suspension for the masses

I have a serotta proflex from that year lounging over the works goods in pc just waiting for me to sneak it home past her indoors so I can build it up.
