So, what do we think?

They have talked about a comeback for some time, Chris made a couple of protos that look ok, but photos bad.
Info is drip fed, and has been over last year, and they asking for half up front deposits with no delivery or who makes them.

Interested to hear opinions, could be nice? if came to be once more?

Or just a dream thats going nowhere?

I've been in contact with tham a few times over the last 12 months and there have been a few problems but I believe things are happening even if it appears rather slow at times.

I wouldn't mind a new Toad to go with the old ones but I'll be holding off for at least a few months as my budget doesn't allow it yet...

Sounds interesting, any idea what problems were?

Guessing Chris is not going to be the long term man in the frame?

Buying one of those frames is right up there with buying a new Cook bros equipped Trimble, no please, take my money upfront.

The main guy that got things rollling had to pull out of the project for personal reasons about April last year which slowed things up considerably.

I think these frames will only be a low volume thing and so when there are sufficient orders then a batch of frames is built. So it is quite possible that Chris could be building frames.

I know that at least two custom large size 29ers were built recently as I was offered one of these frames before Chris built it and there are at least 4 new Toad 29ers out there.

So while the website may not give a lot of confidence after talking to them and gaining more information on my old Toads and the new ones I personally don't have any real concerns.

Never heard of them (please don't shoot me, I live a sheltered existence) but the website blows and the logo is rubbish....

The original ORTs have legendary status in Canada, on par with the kult following Fats have in the States. The e-stay frames are the Holy Grail (IIRC there were 30ish made). Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe those 30 were welded up by Paul Brodie.
