I hope the buyer offers much more than the asking so all can be happy and feel like a fair deal has been made.

Hmmm....the owner clearly knows what the bike is, and it's relevance. Maybe he's loaded and once to just get rid of it fast? Maybe the person buying it isn't loaded and will appreciate getting a good deal (they'll presumably have to split the bike and sell most of the parts which is more of a faff)? Who knows!

For the record, I've got no interest (or should I say....space...) in this bike.

Now that is a cool bike, or can be with some love.

Maybe it's time for me to open a satellite office in Vancouver...

So, thanks to the Good Samaritans at RBUK, I assume the price just tripled...

i have to ask, out of curiosity, what do you mean by that?

the way i see it is the ebay watch section is for people to point out something they have seen that they themselves for whatever reason can't get hold of, whether it be location, lack of finance etc or don't want themselves but think others might.

if the seller looks for threads like this (on a forum based in another country) just because he's selling something that to us is valuable i'd be very surprised he'd know about it, also he may just simply think it's not worth alot, which means your suggestion that this thread would increase the asking price is a little surprising to me.

Why?

If you put something up for sale, and got an avalanche of interest, wouldn't you start to think that maybe you should have asked more?

ok, if you got a load of interest you may put the price up, yes i can see that, but laying the 'blame' all on this one thread i think is probably not the reason.

it's almost like someone saying "you idiots, you have just made him think it's worth more when i could of got a bargain and now i'm gonna have to pay more" which suggests an attitude of taking advantage of someone who may not have known what they had.

Hmm, I might go look at that over the holidays. Thanks for the heads-up.
ha ha............like it would last that long. :xmas-big-grin:
It sounds as if the Fast Mover from Vancouver already snagged it, eh Roy?

Sounds like it. I guess he's just waiting to buy the final accessory before posting a new pic of it
