Just did a run down for some prescription oakley sunnies.... with the transition lens it came to £219!!!!

That's daylight robbery surely?!

That's about middle of the road. I have a pair of Rx Ti rimless glasses Oakley gave me. I priced them out online to $284 for the frames +$180 for persimmon lenses. Another pair of full frame w. gold iridium lenses I purchased myself were $325. IIRC implants for M Frame lenses are in the $400 range, depending on your prescription and coating.

Non prescrip X-Metals can be big bucks. . .

I'm shuddering at the cost of replacing the standard lenses in my Romeos and Juliets :(

My prescription Oakley Kickstand with normal clear lenses came to over £200 a couple of years ago!

Transition lenses cost a freaking bomb, so that's not too bad a price IMHO

This is the problem when companies use a high price of goods as a marketing strategy. When i was 15 i knew, without a shadow of doubt that my various oakley sunglasses made me see, and look, better than any other in the world.
I love getting old and grumpy

When I bought my X-Metal XX I asked how much they'd be with prescription Iridium lenses - £450
Decided my eyesight wasn't THAT bad

BTW got some replacement Iridium lenses off US ebay shop for $60 including shipping, they do some amazing flip colours too.

Got a pair of XX 24K's too... they stay WELL out of the way and are not for daily use (and there's a slight mark on one lens that I'm doing my best to ignore)..
Think they were something like £350-£380 when I bought them (8 years ago or thereabouts :? )

i got a set of half jackets last year, 1 set dark lesnse, 1 clear (as i couldn't get transistion)...$AU850

was going to get rudi project, but not at $AU1100

may get another set of lenses, or fuill pair when i'm in the US later this year, if they work out cheaper there...

I found the Bolle option much less money. They work on a small insert that clips into the bridge part. OK they don't have quitr the marketting power of the big O but you don't feel you have to commit suicide when you headbut a tree and break them! I paid £35 for the lens part. It was quite a long time ago though.

Yeah I have a bolle insert thing from....years ago, but hated them, the insert is a pain, but at least you can change lenses easily. they filled up with sweat far too easily... they were still $AU400 back in like 94/95 or so... but got a health insurance rebate, so they were only $80 hahaha
