Novice project Specialized Rockhopper

Hi everyone, pictures of the cables length as promised.
I've shorten the front brake cable as well since taking these pictures.
On full lock the cables don't stress and Mr @ibbz Confirmed they're ok.

Now, I cut the chain following the instructions on the video from Park Tool, but I think it's a bit long, so please advise.
These are 2 pictures with front largest cog and rear largest cog.

And this is with front smallest cog and rear smallest cog.
I adjusted the B screw because the chain was rubbing on the derailleur jockey, but...
1. The chain seems slack and
2. The derailleur springs are all closed, giving no tension.

Same happens on second smallest cog, no tension in the derailleur springs

When engaging the third smalles gog, the derailleur starts tensioning

I never use the smallest front cog with the 4 smallest at the back and I know that it shouldn't be done, but this is against what the guy in the video says.
Do you think I should cut the chain a little more?
Bearing in mind that it will then be 2 links shorter.
Any advice much appreciated.
Please let me know if you need more pictures to make a judgement.
Thanks

Does it shift correctly without any sounds knocks or anything ? At all ratios ? If so it’s fine

Yes, it does shift correctly, but on smallest cogs front and back, the chain bounces because it's slack.
In this gear, I've tried closing the chain by 2 links with my finger and the derailleur springs engage and give tension to the chain.
Tried the same on biggest cogs front and back and it looks ok.
I think it needs shortening, but I await your verdict.
