Cook Bros Racing's CBR Crankset (Dog bones) (rings have just been confirmed to be DKG, Pre-Salsa, and if you look at Salsa rings, you can see it. These look to be new, as I never used them; the rings, not the cranks)

.......um, if you look at your rings, you'll see something else.... don't they say "QBP Engagement Ring" right on them? Not terrible rings, in any case, but not DKG.

The rings are exactly like the Salsa rings, and Salsa, along with other Northern California bike companies, had a close relationship with DKG for their CNC bike parts. So I think Rod was on the right track with this one, though technically they are stamped QBP.

But thanks for pointing that out; I'll revise my post, once again to reflect that they are DKG/Salsa/QBP rings, and yes, they are not boutique, or particular fast shifting, but still quality rings

Umm, QBP distributes all those brands, sure. Do they put their brand name and model name on all of those items? No. So that's a silly point. Distributing bike parts is different than a full buy-out of the company.

Are the rings the same as Salsa rings? Well, sure! They are the same as Salsa rings made when QBP already owned and distributed Salsa-- after QBP had "sucked them up." Though they were a cool northearn California company, pre-QBP Salsa never made chainrings nor did DKG ever make chainrings.

DKG is cool. QBP, not so much

So....I am not trying to be a dick, but that's why calling them "DKG/Salsa/QBP" in that descending order seems like willful misrepresentation. I mean, what do you need beyond them being branded and sold as QBP to list them as such?

BTW, is it ok with you if I still refer to them being the Salsa rings? Also, please see where I originally wrote that these rings were nothing special, but were new, fit well, and looked good with the cranks. I thought Rod was spot on, but I guess I was mistaken, since you come across with absolute certainty in your post.
Either that, or I'm easily convinced.

BTW, if anyone looking at this knows RedWoodCanopy on ebay, could someone let him know I don't open his messages on ebay, any longer. I have this thing about being annoyed, and I have yet to open a message from him that wasn't written in an annoying manner, so now I don't.

I can't wait till I'm done selling. Shouldn't be much longer; have two more medium sized rubbermaid bins. Plan to empty them, and sell it all off by the end of August.

So long as I can keep myself from impulse buying more stuff
