I think it's safe to say its not a Pace...where's all the external milling on the tubes, why are the graphics in the wrong place, why are the dropouts wrong...???

I also emailed this seller and he gave me the same response:-

Hi, this frame is an offical pace frame it has pace stamped with the id underneath! :roll:

I am going to ask him to mail me a photo of the stamping on the underside of the bb. :?

Im just waiting for him to google "pace rc200 serial number" and end up right here

or better still not notice this thread, grab one of the serials from the official retrobike list, and try to pass it off as his own.

I emailed this guy again to ask for a photo of the serial number on the bb.

This is how he replied, no photo though! :shock:

the stamping code on the bottom is AF99040901

It doesn't look like the serial numbers that Pace use on their GENUINE frames. :?

What do you all make of this number then?

I asked the same question and got the same reply. At least the guy is consistent.

There is always the possibility that he was sold the frame as a 'Pace' original and is an innocent party.

Unfortunately I did reply saying it almost certainly wasn't a Pace frame (and I'm sure I'm not the only one to break that to him this evening).
