Nice white dog shit analogy, really made me smile. Then the arrogant "if you don't think like me you're inferior" nonsense which made me frown.

Pathetic. Really pathetic.

Have to agree Ed.

exactly the type of self interested, un-informed bike snobbery that has driven me away from this site as a more active participant. Shame.

This thread should be re-named and put in the chat section 'cos I think it's got legs!

Different people, different opinions I guess... Most expensive retro bike I've got is a Vit T but my favourite (and cheapest bitd) is my Clockwork. :?

Mustang's and the like mean very little to me but lot's of people will have fond memories of their 'first bike'. Many people only find this great site because they are trying to find info on their early steeds (what ever the quality).

What is pathetic is that you haven't, as always, bothered to read the thread properly before chiming in with your self-important, 'I'm a moderator therefore what I say has meaning and validity' point of view. The whole point of it was that I was asked to express myopinion, not the consensus opinion.

I was expressing that I don't think that low rent, low end bikes should be praised when there are other bikes such as orange clockworks and specialised stumpers than are truly worthwhile rides out there going for a song.

Please don't bother PMing me with your usual patronizing tripe, it is my view and I hold as firm to it as you do your all embracing, all welcoming opinion

As far as elitist, again read the thread. And Russell, if you get offended by one mans opinion in one thread in one section of this site to such an extent as to not want to take part then please f*** off and ride your Raleigh activator into the smiling sunset.

Why don't we just remember that this was a light-hearted thread about a shite bike and one mans view (that is apparently shared by others....)

To be fair Russell, many have lost interest and have been driven away due to lowering standards.

Snobbery is quite rare here on RB (and that's a good thing) but being able and willing to speak ones mind is becoming a no no of late. It's good that someone stands up for what they believe, it matters little if those views are right or wrong.

If you met me in real life, would you tell me to '**** off and ride my Raleigh Activator', but think its OK because you're winking at me as you say it?
