North Face Jacket Repair

I've got a North Face puffer jacket which I managed to rip a few years back. At the time, I did an "emergency repair" on it with some superglue, just to stop the insides coming out!

I now want to get the jacket properly repaired, and I wondered whether anyone else had done this to one of their jackets, and who you used?

It's a relatively small tear (maybe 1.5 inches), but it's at the top of the arm, on the outside, so it's easily visible and I'm getting a bit fed up of walking around with a splodge of superglue showing!!

Look for a local dress shop or tailors that does alterations, they should be able to help you out, or maybe put a sew on badge over it if it's in a place where that wouldn't look odd.

Thats a good idea. Get a north face bagde and seam it in properly and what not.

Thanks for the advice guys - I think I'll give the repair shop a call to see how much they charge.

If it's horrendously expensive then I'll create another thread for badge suggestions!!

My son tore a similar one. I used black self-adhesive spinnaker repair tape. It's lasted years (sew round the edges to stop them peeling, then the glue will last).

I wouldn't even think about sending that anywhere. It is not a waterproof fabric, so any high street shop can shove a patch on it.

The postage alone to a specialists would cost more than the repair.

Due to the filling it would be cheapest to have a patch hand sewn on.

I like the idea of shoving a NF badge on it, depending on where the hole is.
