Not everywhere is like that. Personally, being able to afford it was the main consideration on timing before I had kids. For my parents, we grew up in the 70s - we had nothing, but got by with precious little.

So, quelle surprise, many people make poor decisions, and are rubbish parents, rubbish cyclists, rubbish drivers, or rubbish forum polemicists - physician: heal thyself.
