Noob Question..MTB on road

a lot of the roadies round here ride off road
i got a road bike a few years ago to go "training" with them
what a complete shower of pumped up ass*oles they were
must be testosterone or summat
"if you get dropped ,you'll come back next week and try harder"
was one comment i tried it for a month ,it did work ,i got fitter faster
15 mph average for 30 miles on rural roads round here
still didn't like them tho too much cock waving for me
after all its just a bloody push bike

Yeah, some of them don't even compete but just act like 2012 shortlisted riders. Not like the real think .....

I've personally met and chatted with both Chris Boardman and Nicole Cook, both Olympic gold medallists. No airs or graces to either of them - both easy to chat with and far more human than some of these 4th Cat fodder merchants. :?

Bit of a day for me! :)

Won't go into detail but i have had serious health issues starting about 7 years ago.Stopped all exercise point blank when i had the news.Put on over 2 stone of fat and lost a lot of muscle at the same time

Last Saturday i was given the bike and quickly wanted to do 100 miles within 7 days, mostly because a lot people i couldnt do it.93.86 miles to date, tomorrow will be a breeze.

Will put up stats over the weekend, having a night in a tent with my lad now. Low point was a hellish 18 mile(coast) ride with a couple of nasty climbs for a novice at least with 15mph winds both ways!! (cough 1hr cough 29)

High point typing this!!

Yoo da man!!

Be warned though - this cycling thingy is an infection .... and there's no cure!!

Enjoy your last 7 miles tomorrow. Stick with in and you'll soon so more than that in a day! :P

Last summer I got an insect bite that kept me awake, so I got up at 1.45 in the morning, rode from my place to Brighton and back and arrived back here at 1pm, just in time for the Alpe D'Huez stage of the Tour. 136 miles and back in time for lunch!

(Shan't pretend that I wasn't knackered, though! )

100 miles in a day that's just evil, or is it another target challenge 8)

136 miles and back for lunch, I have obviously joined a site with a few nutters as members

having recently got a road bike, i'll say this

every time you have overtaken a roadie while on a mountain bike, the roadie was not trying.

road bikes are so effortlessly fast, and a massive giggle, shame the brakes suck.

I ride road more than MTB, but if you think roddies are bad try riding with tiathletes, there even worse, They can't ride in a pack, and can hardly get round a corner with out falling off. The best way to take the piss is to ride a road bike like a MTB bunny hop of kerbs & over pot holes, etc and take short cuts down dirt tracks.
