Non Retro 8sp Front Mech?

I'm keeping my 2002 Orange Patriot 8sp...

My old front mech packed up and my LBS sold me a 9sp Deore front mech like this one:

This front mech is awfull, it's going ASAP. The rest of the drivetrain is M739 XT running an IG 8sp chain.

So, what should i replace it with? Needs to be 34.9mm TP and 8sp compatible.

I'm looking for a new one that is readily available in shops still, cheers anyway
