No national series for 2015?

What's happened to the national series this year, has it croaked?

Just wondering as I'd done the Surrey hills round for the past few years and was looking to put it in the diary again this year. Got 2 or 3 mates who would also come along to this as well. It's usually been a good ride and experience with only the weather dampening the event last year.

Carl.

Re:

Time demands probably.

That and people don't really go beyond their local nationals a anyway. Can't blame them, it's a long way for a few miles.

I would guess we'll still have our weekend up here in the north easta s per usual.
Just not under Retrobikes banner.

Re:

Something will pop up I'm sure. It does take a bit of time and effort to organise a regional event for the National calendar and even more so to coordinate the whole thing. As ever, this often falls on the same few people for various reasons. The National series may just need a bit of a well earned breather this year. I spent all last year tearing up and down the country attending some fantastic rides. That was tiring enough and the only thing I had to do was turn up. I will be just doing one or two in 2015.

I might try and make that depending on commitments as I can stay with baz in Doncaster. Managed to make the cake run and peaks ride like this.

Re:

Only today I have worked out a road route. Start/finish at a cafe on the coast, country lanes to a cycling cafe for lunch/biscuits!
Just want to ride it myself to get a picture of mileages, difficulty etc.

Will post it here, viewtopic.php?f=35&t=322065

when I have, and let DSP know, so he can add it to the Nationals

Just need to work out a date then, that doesn't clash with peoples school holidays

Looking forward to Surrey Hills ride, both road and mtb. 8)
