NME greatest singer ever poll

How can you hold a "Greatest ever singer" poll without including the truly great singers? Those who can fill a theatre or other venue with awesome musicallity and subtlety of emotion without the help of amplification.

I mean the great opera singers - the Cecilia Bartolis, Placedo Domingos, and yes, even the Bryn Terfels and Alfie Bowes of the world.

It's an NME poll!

Indeed! Now I've not picked up an NME for twnty years or summat but I don't remember Michael Jackson or Freddie Mercury

So why do they claim it is a poll of the GREATEST SINGERS of all time, rather than the more honest "Most popular rock and pop singer with our limited readership"?

It can't be a proper NME poll - given how far the magazine is wedged up the collective backsides of the Gallagher brothers there's not the slightest mention of them in there.

Because that is like asking, "Who is your best friend amongst all the people in the world?", rather than "amongst your friends".
