Forgive my obvious bias, but is "Nice Cannondale" an oxymoron?

(Runs for flame retardant asbestos suit)

Touche

I agree with the Trek barb except that Im ashamed to say its the best all around FS bike I have ever ridden. And it is really a Giant rebadged as a Truk. I hate Truk. I love the EX9. Im torn and need a shrink!

One day we received (at the authorized 'Dale dealer where I was employed at the time) a C-dale that was wrecked in shipping. One of the usual shop customers worked in a machine shop and cut the frame in half on a band saw. What we witnessed inside the tubes looked like Hellen Keller worked with a torch in the C-dale factory!!! We looked on in horror at the weld burn through and gaps. Mind you this was on a high end frame, I think CAAD3 or something? Dont quote me on the exact but I do remember that the *frameset* went for $2700 US and was supposed to be one of the finest. Maybe it was a bad example but just goes to show that beautifully shaped welds on the outside does not mean quality welding all around. Needless to say 'Dales never had the same appeal for me ever again. Now I fear that filed down welds are just a way to hide shoddy work. I wish I had a digital camera back then to show high res pics in this post, you would wonder how the frame held together at all.
