New Rolls Saddles

Question - are the new replica Rolls saddles as good as the 80s original.? All in terms of quality, looks and durability?

I love my original and am considering putting this on the winter bike and buying a new replica titanium version for the summer bike. £125 is making my eyes water, but I'm more likely to convince myself if it has all the style and features of the original

Winstanleys have one for 99.99 or perhaps someone on retro bike has got one ?. I stopped using Rolls so cannot compare for you between modern day ones and the originals but they look the same .

Short answer is NO ..... but plenty plenty good enough. Foam padding, leather thickness, and finish not exactly the same. Plastic base is faithful.

£125 of those UK sovereigns could easily be wasted on something more substandard.

Just saying that 15 to 10 years ago I was buying up boxed 90s original NOS or VGC Rolls with Ti rails and AL back plate for even 180€ of those Europhile drachmas Euros from anywhere in the world, mostly Italy, and even the USA even.

I'm very attached to my bum you see.

EDIT: Also, the re-issue is nothing recent, a rough guess would be from about 2005 or abouts when they realised the sky high prices of 2nd hand saddles the fixie guys were willing to pay for. Even a battered Rolls still seems to have worth for urban duties.

If I understand right too, in the 80s there was no Ti rail version since saddle weight wasn't deemed that important.

Fairly certain too this version below is actually not re-issued despite what is seen on the web for new sale.
