thanks for all your help guys regarding my wanted add.
i managed to pick up a raleigh apex for the grand sum of £60 deliverd.
all i have done so far is replace the seatpost for the one pictured,remove the graphics,replace the bars-stem and grips,fit new dmr peddles and swap the canti brakes for some shiney ones.
the bike has had very little use and rides nicer than my marin.

Blimey that's a tall one! Granted my 17" does not fit me well at all mind, nice understated modern classic Raleighs. Good stuff. Planning to do a lot to it/with it, or time for next project...?

I kinda want to keep mine standard, Flex stem, cromo post, beige groupo etc but at same time might make it into a SS for the GF... Hmmm

Smart looking bike for a big'un!! Would be nice to get decals back on to show it off but understand it's be a big cost compared to the bargain price you got it for..

so ive hammerd ebay this last couple of weeks,
ive brought the following:
purple cable nipples
blue chain set bolts and purple for granny ring
new cables all round
blue outer cable ends
new conti tyres and tubes
acid blue dmr peddals
purple dmr v8-v12 pimp kit

still to follow are a nos turbo saddle and xt shark fin
