New project-Norco Kokanee

hi all
here's the latest aquisition for me. has the u-brake and an interesting one piece stem and handlebar arrangement. right now it's a 6 speed. hoping i can upgrade to 7 speed. this bike is very tired and needs some love. what do you think? am i wasting time and money?

cool - reminds me of a mid 80's Mongoose or Muddy Fox Courier

are the chainrings steel or aluminium? that would give a hint of the original budget of the bike.

I wouldnt go mad on it but its different and no reason why it cant be made into something fun.

cranks are sakae sx with oval tech decal on big ring. big ring is aluminum, other two are steel. what does this tell you?

I would say it's above my raleigh cobra as it's got a few more gears and it looks generally more expensive but the brakes look strangely similar.

Norco is still going today I think and make good bikes so I would say yes it's definatly worth doing and it is different
