New Project - 'Green Lion': Some more photos

I also spotted Groene Leeuw content on the forum 'WielerArchieven', but it is all in Flemish/Dutch of course.[/quote]

Hey, do you have a link? Ik kan en beetje nederlands... :D

Cheers,

Johnny

I went and collected the bike yesterday, from Chatelet, a truly grim town in Wallonia. It was like something from Eastern Europe before the fall of communism. Anyway...

Here's a first lot of photos, I can only add four at a time.

I'm wondering about the age of the bike. The only clues are the decals and the solida cranks (which also say 'lightrace' on them). PO said 1960s, which might be true, but was wondering if 1950s is also possible.

PO gave me a bucket of more or less random components from anywhere from possibly 1950s to 1970s, so they weren't much help.

Any thoughts?

Cheers,

Johnny

More photos... Various decals. The 'WS Special' one might refer to the tubing.

Michael Wright was actually more Belgian than British. He could hardly speak English at the time but due to his family history (English mother?) he could race on a British licence.

Wright grew up in Bishop's Stortford but moved to Belgium when very small. In the current line-up of the Twenty3c-Orbea squad, Marcel Six seems to have made the reverse trip, growing up in Belgium and now living in Herts (St. Albans to be precise)!
