Retro Newbie
Well...
My name is Phil... and I used to be a cycloholic
I run a forum/club myself (106free4all.co.uk - It's a car club for Peugeot 106 owners... ironically I no longer own a 106)

I'm 22

I used to cycle everywhere as a kid... My leg muscles are huge but my knees are those of 90 year olds as a result... I can cycle but walking can be painful. (More an excuse to cycle again)

I've not be able to cycle for years due to heart problems.
But 12months (or very nearly) after an operation I'm getting back on my bike.

My bike (no pictures yet... sorry)
Muddy Fox Courier, Purple and white with oval crank(amazingly better than a normal one), very sharp metal pedals, original wheels (although the spokes are rusty), Panacar Smoke Lite tyres (although slightly dangerously cracked rubber).
As far as I know it's around a 1987 bike so if that's correct it's as old as me!

My plans... Clean the bike up replace broken parts and stick road (wet) tyres on it.
Use it as a daily rider down a steep slope and slowly work on cycling back up after work.

I'm hoping you guys can help me with parts, where to get them etc.

Right... I'll leave you all in peace and I'll update when I've taken some pictures :D

Hello. Welcome. I owned a new pug (i think 106) a small pug in 1999 The wife liked driving it :D

Howdy. Welcome. Lets see some pics of the bike. And hang your head in shame for not only having owned a 106 but feeling to need to start a forum about it!

Cheers fella!
I had a 1.4i Ford Escort before the 106... Which I didn't change cars... I didn't fit in the 106 properly. Long legs hence why I like the Courier, it's very tall frame!

:P

ps. pics probably coming this weekend of the rusty, in need of TLC 2 wheeled thing!

1.4 Escort!! you're only making things worse for yourself.

I've got an identical model Courier for sale at the mo' though I doubt much is left for you to use....

The wheels can be sorted easy, just remove one front spoke from the front wheel and one from each side of the rear wheel and order a new set of DT Swiss stainless from Chainreaction Cycles. I replace a pair at a time, set a rough true and then head down to the LBS to get the final dish, tension and true. The mechanic always shakes his head at the crap I bring down but always does a sterling job. Rebuilding wheels is very satisfying.

Not forgotten about this forum... honest!

I will upload pictures soon.

Just working on the bike at the minute... It needs a lot doing sadly :(
