New garage door - any recommendations?

Operation 'sort out the house' can now turn it's attention to the garage 8) I have a single story, single car sized door, attached to the house. It's original from 1965 so definitely needs replacing and upgrading. I know nothing about modern garage doors so does anyone have any recommendations or features I should look out for or avoid? Of course I want it to be secure but look like an ordinary door so it doesn't suggest there's a bounty of Kona's inside.

Any relevant advice would be super-appreciated :!:

could just paint the existing one like this:

.......sorry

Re:

First decision will be type, modern up and over or roller. This will depend on budget, how often you intend to use the door (if you have another access route, you may not be using it much).

We went for up and over, I'd recommend getting a four point looking system. Rather than crappy cable going to a single pin at the top, these should have rigid linkages to four locking points, two at the top and two at the bottom - this makes it less likely to have corners pulled away.

Make sure it has a decent lock! You may still want to add additional locking.

Make sure that it is made of decent material - reasonable gauge steel, not skinny aluminium.

Drop me a PM and I will let you know what we got a few weeks ago.

Something like this pair I made for a friend :D

Could make a wee façade for the corners  change the appearance not space.
