I've just bought a frame on ebay to replace my ageing Klein.
I am wondering whether to put rigid or suspension forks on it?
In the last 10 years the only rigid forks I've used are Pace RC30's which are very rigid. What are Project 2 forks like? More forgiving?
Or should I go with some retro suspension forks or modern cheap ones?
I don't have a clue!
From the advert:
This is a nice Specialized Cr-mo frame, with Taper butted oval section seatstays, Square oval chainstays, Ritchey rear dropouts & mech hanger and Double butted round main tubes, 1 & 1/4 inch headtube, this would take a 30mm seatpost.
Offered in good used condition, with signs of use and age; with cable rubs, and a few chips & scratches, most of which have been caused while in storage while in the care of previous owner, but I think that should be expected for a bike of this age, but still a little unsightly.
This has been mostly dry stored and has not been in use for a long time, so if you want a bit of a classic everyday, user freindly, tough, lightweight steel frame to build up a good bike for getting around town or trail, or more serious XC trainer, or even single speed, then this is the type of frame I'd choose to build up.
I'm sure it's 1 1/8 headset though.
