Odd the seat stays are one contiuous tube instead of the two piece.
Hollister of Bonty Dude will probably clarify.
What a find though.

Now that you mention it, the frame is most likely a post Trek buyout frame. So I'm guessing 96 or newer. I might be wrong, but I believe the early Bontys had the two piece seat stays and the later ones had one piece, since Trek had the financial backing to get Tange to produce the one piece stays. Still a nice frame. Surely a die-hard Bonty fan would know more...

The frame is in fact a large. Bonty mediums measrue 15in. center to center and 17in. center to top. 19in. center to top would be correct for a large Bontrager frame.

Thanks for posting the chart. So I stand corrected if the 1996 chart states 17" as being Large. Good catch.

Oddly enough I sold a 1999 Privateer, 17" C-C that had a top tube length of 22" on the dot.....which is a shorter top tube than the 13" Privateer according to the chart. Wondering if it's the effective top tube length or if the geometry changed quite a bit on the 1999 models. Anybody have a Bontrager handy that can take measurements?

I noticed that the seller also mentioned the top tube being 22 1/8" C-C, not 23" like in the chart....on the answered questions section at the bottom.

The measurments of my Bonty Race suggest the chart reflects effective top tube length, not actual center to center length of the top tube. So, 22 1/8" center to center sounds about right for 23" effective.

Thanks for the info...makes me wish there was a standard measurement. Effective measurements seem like a good idea with all the odd shaped frames. (i.e. What's the top tube length on a Trimble).
