New BBC series: "Made in Britain"

Thought it was really good. Best bit was Evan Davis's face in that McClaren  looked like he was about to spew.

Really interesting, but found it far too much like a government propaganda film, made to provide feel-good motivation for those that think there's no jobs or wonder what's happened to our once-great manufacturing base.
There was a clear, unbalanced agenda there.
I also detected the "unbalance" that you're referring to pigman, but I just saw it as a bit of much-needed optimism about the future. :)

Is it just me, or was that episode not quite as upbeat as the first? :?

It seemed that Evan Davis was making the best of a bad situation: "The foreign companies that have bought Pilkington Glass and Rowntree Mackintosh have invested money in those companies by building R&D facilities in the UK to employ British scientists and engineers..."

...which means that any new discoveries that those British scientists make are automatically the property of their Japanese or Swiss 'investors'.

I'd be a lot happier if British companies were pocketing the intellectual property of Japanese or Swiss scientists.
