Never Used Raleigh M-Trax (97)

UKBiker

Retro Newbie
Evening,

Just joined up tonight, I raced cross country from around 96-2001 had various bikes including Kona and a team Pace RC200 which I wish I still had.

I have recently managed to get hold of this Raleigh M-Trax Year (97) its just come out of a box and has everything original and has never been used, it was a great find, plus it has taken me back a few years

Any of you have one of these?

Re:

Evening Buddy,

I think I will look at selling it, It's a shame to keep it hidden away, but on the other hand it would be bad to see it ruined too. Would be good to see it go to someone who would appreciate it, to be honest its not often you find something like this that's 100% unused.

The Pace was a nice bike, was an ex team bike from Freetown Sports in Hull, wish I had never sold it. The wheels was HED and I had to get them to file the holes out on an angle to fit the spokes due to the rims not been designed for disk brakes.

As for the missus, yeah she knows about my nasty habit with bikes, unfortunately for her I work in a high end bike shop that sells some nice bikes and bits :D

Oooh that M-Trax looks bloody nice, and it sounds like you may be a local boy then if you sourced a pace from freetown back in the day?

Re:

Yeah im a local, based in Hull

If you used to shop in Freetown I will more than likely have met you at some point?

Yeah the MTrax is great, considering selling it too

Re:

Aye I'm hull as well, I went for a job interview many years ago at Freetown, didn't get it unfortunately though, I mainly frequented Ken Ellerkers as they're a couple of minutes from me, never stopped me drooling over the konas in Freetown though whenever we went anywhere near haha!

Re:

I've got a Kona AA hung up in my garage, its frame only, I cracked it around the head tube & they offered to replace under warranty but I said no as it has two Jason Mcroy stickers on it which I could not replace

So you will remember Nick from Ellerkers? He had some of the best kit and really knew how to make his bikes look the part

Re:

I do indeed remember nick, he has his own shop in Pocklington now from what I'm told, I adored his hei hei, can still see it hung up now in the shop next to Darrens giant mcm team!
Darren is manager at Ellerkers now, and Brian still owns the place too :-)
Kudos on the AA being kept, technically I have four konas now and I still keep an eye on them on ebay too lol.
Do you get out much round here these days, we have a close knit group of local riders that are out every Wednesday night round Welton area and most sundays too if we can, if you're interested?
Look up Yorkshire wolds retroriders on Facebook if you're on there :-)
