forgot to add look at the 1992 MArin catalogue as it was an option on some of them then, retrobikeguy provided the scans. Only mentions it in the blurb at the start though.

I'm intrigued. What headset was it designed for? A pre-Aheadset threadless headset?

For the GT:
headset is standard 1 1/8 threaded but the stem has to quills, one in the fork as normal, them one for the stem t6o give height adjustment.
Always seem to find standard GT 3D forks with the bloody quill still stuck in them.
I havent seen those browning forks in the flesh for a good 20 years
