They say that you should never meet childhood heroes. Maybe they are right!

I recently got a lovely 1993 Cannondale Delta V1000 that I have wanted since they were released. I never lost the desire for one, and when one popped up on eBay, I bought it.

I took it off road last week for the first time, along with a 1998 GT LTS, and found it uncomfortable and an effort to ride. The GT on the other hand is great fun and inspires confidence. Maybe I'm turning modern.......

Anyway, I still think the Delta V is a lovely looking bike and I may unfortunately have to leave it hanging on the wall and just admire it. Shame, but I believe they were slated back in the day for their offroad abilities?? If anyone's interested I'll get some pictures up!

They are pretty brutal to ride, just no give in the frame at all but it is achingly pretty of that there is no doubt and yes some pics please.

the one I used to have

I had a delta v600 from new that I rode/raced all weekend every weekend and it was rubbish on downhills but I didn't have any other issues with it

Hmmm perhaps is age catching up on you.........

ride it more. after a while you will "get used" to it. dont ride any fancy new bikes, that undoes all the hard work.

I used to always worry about the dropouts. To me they seemed poorly designed in that there was a lot of strain on them but not much support
