Just won a rim i was after.Pressed pay it now but failed to notice the bank transfer bit.Up came a total screen with a pay now.
I pressed it but up came a page telling me
"You chose to transfer EUR XXX to winnie_one_two from your financial institution."
But if its bank transfer how does that work?
Have i sent them my details or do i have to contact them and ask for their bank details, then go to the bank, hand over the relevant details and specify how much im sending.

There wasnt a paypal option, its bank transfer only,i failed to notice because i was too surprised to see the rim i was after come up so soon

Contact them.. I reckon.. and monitor your bank for a couple of days to see if anything's been sent over....

You'd need the sellers IBAN code though I think..

Don't Ebay sellers **have** to accept PayPants?.
Not the last time I sold. . . was a couple of months back though.. rules change (on a whim at times, it seems)

you need their IBAN number .

I take it they are abroad , and it is going to cost you a fair bit , £20 to £25 .

if the rim wasnt that expensive , best to send him so cash in an envelope recorded , shoud cost you less than a fiver for europe .

Postage is £15,which isnt too bad :? but im not sure i fancy sending cash through the postal system recorded or not
The seller is in Germany and they've 480 feedback, which is also reassuring. Its not that im worried about the bank transfer,i know thats safe enough. It was that i pressed the pay now ,when the total amount inc postage was shown. What i dont know or understand is if i pressed the pay now button how was it paid,if at all.
Does ebay have these details on file and arranges the transfer in a similar way to paypal or via a credit card.

I think IBD1's idea about monitoring my account to see if that sum has been sent.
Though im sure an innocuous request for these details cant hurt

You can complete the 'pay now' and then send cheque/cash (I have done this a fair while ago with a non-paypal auction - it may have all changed.. )..

ebay wouldn't have the IBAN I shouldn't think - not THAT clued up but I would think it's one of those things that you would have to provide..

On sending cash... you can, iirc, via AirSure and cash is insured (wish the post office had told me this, they said I couldn't do insured delivery to Germany and somebody stole my EUR600 between the post office and the German retailer).
From memory, recorded is (or was) only tracked to the point where it leaves the UK.

Is it not an option to contact the seller, ask if payment has been received and, if not, pay by paypal once you know that your bank hasn't already been debited?

Germans don't like paypal i think because of the fees, you could offer to pay the paypal fees as this would probably be cheaper for you than posting money or the cost of an international bank transfer, if he has a paypal account that is.
