Trying to look into the history of a few of the 'old boys' I've ridden and still ride with. Cant get a thing out of them.
I know one was a pro with Holdsworth in the 60's
And another rode with Fred Dean and another team in 1958 though I can't recal it's name, but I'm sure it was just initials.
Also curious to see if another well know amateur that got me riding was ever a pro, chap known as Gino Goddard.
I didn't realise that I was in such good hands as a kid.

I was with Gino a couple of weeks ago. He rode the Johnny Helms Memorial 2-up last October in Cheshire. Don't think he ever turned pro.

Have a look on this site, it's French but very extensive and also includes British pro teams over the years.

PM me with the names of the ones you need to know, I might remember!

For as long as I can remember Gino's always ridden in the green and gold of the Kenton RC,although in his heyday he certainly would have been good enough to be a pro .If he ever was a pro ,he never mentioned it,but then again, Gino's such a gent he wouldn't have.

I think Gino must have been the original retro rider,I fully remember he was still using barcons and universal centre pull brakes well into the 80t's and still giving riders like me 25 years his junior sore legs.Good to see he's still riding, legend in my book :D
