nice detective work Steve... but I have more questions!!!

1) is it worth doing anything with? IE was it a high-end bike originally?
2) what vintage is it? What parts did it originally come with?
3) did it come with sus forks or rigid?

God I love this forum...

Here's one that ended on ebay recently.... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SCOTT-YECORA-moun ... K_Bikes_GL

1) It wasn't a high-ender, but it IS a well made (and strong) 7005 series Alu frame, so will take a good deal of abuse.
2) It's a 1999/2000 Model Year
3) yes it came with SUS forks, but unsure which at the moment....

I'm currently building one as a basic hack bike to abuse throught the winter, I'm confident with a few nice components it'll be a winner

If you need any help with yours, give me a shout.. 8)

looks like it has been painted by Stevie Wonder.

are you able to get some paint stripper onto a cloth and wipe the paint - the original colour may be lurking underneath.

yeah going to try a bit of nitro wotsit on a cloth (with the mrs rubber gloves on, of course).

Not really sure what to do with the frame but I'm thinking maybe winter hack... could do with some cheap sus forks to suit though.

Hi,
It's definitely Scott frame - but not necessarily Yecora

From 1998 (first alu frames in sport series as GT-Steve's Yecora) to 2001 all frames from Sport series had same design

In 1998 and 1999 it was same frame for all models (Boulder/Vail/Tampico/Yecora - 7005 T4/T6 PG Tubing)
In 2000 Boulder had Double Butted Tubes, Vail/Tampico/Yecora still PG Tubes
In 2001 Boulder - DB Tubes, Yecora/Tampico PG Tubes (and Performance Series signatures)
In 2002/2003 Boulder had new dropouts, but Yecora/Tampico had same frames as in 2001

Frames was always equipped with suspension forks (fex RS Jett, Manitou Magnum)
I can search geometry of this frame if You want
Also - do You know what stuff was mounted on it?
