Mystery De Rosa

Re:

I bought the bike on Sat. It is a beauty, but unfortunately it is a 54cm frame (the seller told me it was a 57!!). I drove 150miles round trip so I bought it anyway, but am pretty bummed that is is the wrong size.

I cleaned it up and put a spare set of Shamals on it that I had and it is going to auction. Pretty amazing how light it is for an early '80s bike.

When I worked for the German De Rosa distributor in the 80's, we had a few of these go through. I wasn't terribly impressed by them, nor were our dealers and the production stopped very quickly. I have since see a few come up for sale from time to time. They never seem to achieve very solid prices. Personally, I would remove the Shamals as they are not in keeping with the vintage and I would set the saddle up level.

thanks for the info. i thought it was a pretty nicely made frame, but waayy to small for me. I sold the shamals separately and the bike went to a Japanese collector. Best.
