I know no one knows me here but my other hobby is Lawnmower racing so again its the end of July and this weekend it's the 12 hour lawnmower race. Pain in the Grass Racing (which I run and drive for with two friends) will once again be attempting to bring back the winners trophy. This is our 4th attempt as the current team and the 2nd year on our endurance machine.
We came 6th overall (out of over 50 entries) last year and 3rd in class only about 12 minutes behind the eventual winners and we had about 15 minutes worth of unplanned pit stops to fix some broken parts, these have now been sorted and we know we have the speed so we just need the luck now, we have 3 good drivers and come rain or fair I think we have the ability to put in a good showing.
If anyone is in the Guildford/Haslemere area on Saturday daytime or evening head over to Northchapel in the driection of Petworth (it's only just off the main road running from Milford to Petworth) swing by and look out for number 2 as that will be us.
I wont get any sort of race report up for a couple of weeks as I am going straight off on holiday on Monday, hopefully with some silverware.
Derek Bell will be reunited with his twice winning machine from 20 years ago to lead the parade lap and will then be the official starter, hoping he is going to drag Sir Stirling down too (as they won it together once).
If you want to have a look at what we get up to have a look at:

and here is the video of the race last year (we were carrying number 9 last year):
