My retro rebuild (with pics and stuff)

Hi again,I`ve just sat down and thought some more about welding/brazing.The last time I did any brazing was at school (Long ,Long Ago) and I remember having to get the the metal to "cherry red" before the braze would flow.I think "cherry red" is hotter than ARC/MIG/TIG welding and as the drop outs are brazed in their join may become undone when brazing near to them, but I quite expect one of the forum frame builders to put me right on this.Please.

No rush as yet mate, i'm in the process of sorcing a disc hub first and rebuilding my back wheel, so the guys at the metal fabricators have something to work with.

you can get away with mig welding it on just keep the amps low.tig would be betteras the heat is more consentrated .im just in the process of chopping a old GT frame and refitting the top tube and seat stays at differant angle very similar to a kona.

Hi Thwang,a friend of mine altered his steel frame in a similar way (cant remember the make or model) and made a fairly decent looking job of it,then he couldn`t find the b..ls to ride it..
