Explosif has gone to a new home down south, these days I'm hurting myself on this....

....but on a more <97 theme...
I'm building project Towpath Rocket, a birthday present for dear old Dad 8)

91 Fire Mountain on some fast rolling XT/XC717s. I love the deep black paintjob!
I'll probably fit some light and fast crossroads style all rounder tyres to keep it fast. As the name suggests the worst terrain it'll have to tackle will be sussex lanes, towpaths and hopefully the Monsal Trail up this way ocassionally...Dads knees permitting.
That 50 tooth chainset is going to make this bike fly!
(knees permitting)

nice bikes !!
for the grey kilauea it's a 94, I've got the same frame in 17' it's a lovely bike, but looking for a fork in the same color for years

Cheers!
I loved that Kilauea so much, guted still today some scrote nicked it, and probably didn't appreciate what he'd lifted. (apart from maybe how nice and light it was)

Uh oh,....Just found some more old pics......

fire up the scanner.....

This may deserve it's own thread but...

My first ever mountain bike....

Muddy Fox Roadrunner, 1988 I believe. Cost around £225 new. Bought with one of my first wage packets :D

Unfortunately another sad tale, only months in, me and the roadrunner came a cropper, some tw*t opened his car door on us....

The roadrunner didn't make it...but it led to this!!!.......

Diamond Back Arrival...The alloy version of the Ascent I believe, and top end in its day with full XT including the silly U brake

I shudder just thinking about how good for the bike and all it's bearings this was but it became a regular trick at Box Hill for me and my mates...

Oh and one of the RTS all on it's own.
This came somewhere in the pack between the turquoise cinder cone and the Giant ATX I think.

Great looking frame, but I never could get on with that rocker chain pull sensation though.

Note the Continental cross country 1.5 on the rear!!!Went like a rocket uphill but what was I thinking?
Eventually it led to the demise of that lovely purple Ambrsio rim on some rough stuff. Lesson learnt!
