Hi guys
Here is my next project , well once i finish what im doing anyway :D
noticed this on ebay with a poor description a couple of weeks ago , i had a pretty good idea what it was although the paint had been stripped off and took a flyer on it for £8.99 !
Looks to be a 91 stumpjumper m2 , hopefully some stumpy experts can tell me more, the frame number is 91 t04446 found traces of purple paint in the head tube too.

Also picked these up for £12.50 too :D

looks in pretty ood nick apart from the chainsuck , came with a good bb and the rear brake hanger too , not sure on seatpost , looks maybe 26.8 ?
again if anyone has more info on this model i would love to hear it.

Cheers Paul

Hey Paul , It's time to face the truth  you really are too big for that BMX in the garage mate

Great score! It's indeed a 1991 Duralcan Stumpjumper, the first year made - serial number and those great fat welds tend to be the giveaway. The purple paint was a shade called 'purple haze', these were well known to have issues with the paint flaking off so some ended up being stripped. There's a few examples of these on the internet with a bit of google searching :)

I actually had one of these a couple of years back that I bought for a similar amount (listed as a rockhopper in error), same year, different frame number. It would be nice painted in team red with yellow decals I reckon, that was my plan at least...

Yep thats an early frame, you can tell by the cable mounts. Good find, I'm after one of those but obviously I'm not searching hard enough if I missed bargain like that!! Gotta go with original purple, if you want a red one I'll swap you a freshly powder coated 92 frame ;)
