My newest hobby, it sounds like a hoard of bees

Thanks for the info. I am trying to remember the lyric - it revolves around a cocktail of formaldehyde. Memory is not what it used to be.

By the way, still jealous of the blue skies. Beats grey, wet and high winds here right now.

Are those mountains in the background. San Gabriel?

Any pics you can post you have taken, I've been tempted to get something like that :)

Richard,

California Uber Alles is the song here are some highlights:

I am governor Jerry Brown
My aura smiles and never frowns
soon I will be President…

etc...etc

Now its 1984
Knocka knock at your front door
It's the suede denim secret police
they have come for your uncool niece

Come quietly to the camp
you will look nice as a drawstring lamp
don't worry its only a shower
for your clothes here is a pretty flower

Die on organic poison gas
Serpent's egg already hatched
you will croak you silly clown
When you mess with President Brown
When you mess with President Brown..

BTW as a side note my former flat mate was in a band with East Bay Ray….

Yes those are the San Gabriels, or I should say the new National Monument San Gabriel.

I would be happy to post a picture but the only card reader is at work so it will be a bit. From what I can tell the Phantom 3 is going to be much better as far as the camera goes.

Re:

I would be interested to see the pictures?

My cousin has a business using a pro one of these with live feed to check buildings/pylons etc. He has to be licensed to use it.

Here in the States the FAA is still struggling to come up with rules that will please everyone, but as for now there are few restrictions for hobbyist.

Here are a couple of test pics with the Phantom 2. It does pretty well in daylight, as I noted, and even into the evening. The photo of my backyard was taken on a cloudy day just before sunset. Camera info indicates that it was 125th at f/2.8 and ISO 178.

Another drawback is the extreme wide angle lens causes some distortion as can be seen in the curvature of the horizon. Distortion not as noticeable in the photo of me where lens is pointed more or less straight down.

My cousins son has a skyjib, I gather he does aeriel filming for television programmes and adverts with it. I was looking at his website a few years ago and there was a link to another octocopter owners film of mountain bikes; very impressive.
