My new RockLobster Ti build

KJD MK1

Devout Dirtbag
Sorry for the delay but daylight just keeps beating me here so I've taken a few in fading light with the flash.

I placed the order with Merlin for a custom build based around the RL Ti frame as follows.

17" Rocklobster Ti frame
Full XT Group set,
XT brakes
Rox shox Sid race fork
Race face Deus bar, stem and seat post.
Hand built Mavic 719 rims build into Hope Pro 11 hubs with SS butted spokes.
FSA ahead set
Hope seat collar
Fisik Gobi saddle
2.1 Nobby nic tyres.

Hope you like.

Just to finnish it off I've ordered a pair of Ti skewers and weight wise it come's in at just a tad under 24lb :)

Very nice, the set up of the frame and angles looks almost identical to my Rock Lobster. the look like the forks are too long but ride great.

Looks really good, you can't beat a bit of Ti goodness!

100mm SIDs....I'd say the right fork for a bike like that

I agree, it wasn't a criticism of the bike, I meant that all Rock Lobsters look like that. In fact they'd look wrong with a short fork.

What are you thoughts on the yellow decals? Not sure if I like them and I'm considering taking the hair dryer to them.

Nah, you need the yellow decals and the little lobster guy wouldn't look as good in another colour.

No the decals look fine, the bike will look better when all the parts and frame "dull up" a little after riding.

Mint bike, and I bet you did not pay through the nose for it either!, dispite the build being far better than the standard spec for these machines.

What is the weight like, I am guessing around late 24s ?

Enjoy!

I guess your right, they are a part of the bike.

I had a superb deal from Merlin, they really did look after me.

The complete bike came in a shade under 24lb.

I'm well pleased :)
