looks like a freewheel hub to me,not a cassette though i dont remember hope doing a screw on hub??? either way,its going to be almost impossible to remove the freewheel now..

Whatever it is, you know what I mean stew.

Mark, I've read of folk lacing the non drive side of the hub into a rim to get the cassette / freewheel off, must put an awful amount of strain on the flange/rim spoke holes though! Probably very wobbly too? Not something I'd fancy doing. Would a clamp of some sorts hold it firm enough to unscrew it without it slipping or crushing the hub body? :?

For reference yes the Hope hub is freewheel (screw on) one (I have one the same on my RC100)

And for further reference shillbidding is V bad. only made worse by the cringe worthy "question" that has been seleected to be shown as apposed to the numerous questions along the lines of why the hell is a cracked marin frame heading for manitou money?

Just feel a lil sorry for whomever pays out an artificially high price.

If you want a fixed price advertise here or on ebay with BIN or reserve, if you want to maximise the potential whilst minimising outlay, sell it now reserve on the bay, dont then have a mate artificially pump the price to what you want.

Me thinks thats a bit bad really,
the whole fun of ebay is the chance of a bargain, increasingly difficult these days, and the whole point of an auction is that things find their own price,

makes me a bit sad that there could be members of the retrobike community shill bidding, im just glad there was nothing in there i fancied,

left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth tell you the truth

oh well thats my opinion

"the whole fun of ebay is the chance of a bargain"

Nah - the whole POINT to ebay is to make money.

It's a clever system in place they have (especially with PayPap onboard) they make heinous amounts of money from the shill bidding that goes on - its in their interest to ignore it (to a degree).

Ebay used to be fun to use. Now everyone just makes an offer and people end up pulling auctions.

I'll just repeat that I'm sorry and I didn't know it was considered bad and I won't be doing it again.
