My little girl can ride a bike

Ive been trying to get my 4 year old to ride her bike without baby wheels for a few months now always resulting in floods of tears and the wheels going back on. Took her down to Halfords at the weekend whilst i picked up some bits and she was looking at the girly bikes. She liked the look of a 16" wheeled Carrera so i pulled it out of the racking and let her have a sit on it. I asked her if she'd like one for Christmas and she nodded franticly so i told her if she could ride her current bike without baby wheels i'd have a word with father Christmas and see if he'd let her have one. Fast forward to tonight, I took the baby wheels off, took her into the street and let her have a try, She took to it straight away and was off riding, within 5 minutes she'd mastered stopping and starting so i took her round the block and she managed it no problem.

Simon proper proud daddy :D :D :D :D

Great news!!..

My Son (5 y/o) is buggin me for a new bike..
I tried the when you can ride your current one trick but he just insisted that he can ride it, doesn't need to prove it to me, and therefore is entitled to a new bike as promised

Once we've moved I'll be on a mission...

But do her a favour and get her an Islabike rather than some heavy shonky Halfords one. 8)

Most 16" kids bikes seem to weigh about 30lbs!!!

Congratulations 8)

You've introduced her to the concept of freedom :D

+2 :D

soon be driving lessons as well. As bikes and public transport don't mix

My four year old hasn't got the idea that you have to push the pedals forward   . My eldest was on two wheels on his own at 4. Like chalk and cheese.

I was quite surprised at the quality of halfords bikes i expected them to be junk but the Carrera we got her has a 6061 alloy frame, alloy wheels, V brakes, Aheadset, zoom suspension forks. All in for £110 which i thought was good value.
