My LBS is SOOOO cheap!!!

DIY spanner waggling

I can't draw or play any musical instruments either, but I can fettle any bike problems better than most shops. It's all down to having the correct tools. Modern stuff is just so easy to work on compared to the Retro though. Half the fun is fettling your own steeds.

There is only one person I trust with my bike. Me.
Even for free, no one would go near my bikes except me

its funny when you can do mechanical stuff its weird people cant! but then i have no musical skill at all horses for courses innit!

I didn't mean I can't, more that they just started on it automatically.Really decent of them.

and by the way...I'm an internationally renowned concert pianist.

now your just showing off! i really meant the first post that seems really expensive for something that takes 20 or 30 minutes! and in no way belittling people that dont have the knowledge to work on bikes themselves!

It's called a basement repair shop

My basement shop:
- No waiting in line to drop it off
- No waiting for it to get done
- No waiting in line to pick it up
- No hassles getting it there or getting it home, I'm already at home :D
- No hole in my wallet for payment
- Money saved goes for buying more tools or bike bits :D :D :D

coz I'm such a skinflint I do all my stuff myself...haven't got the hang of bleeding (that's the verb not the expletive!) disc brakes yet though. That's the only thing I've had done recently at my LBS. Cost a tenner.

I bought one a Hope bleed kit* for my Mono M4's. Sprayed hydraulic fluid all over the bike and anything within a 6 feet radius. It's easy once you get the hang of it and learn to read between the lines of the instuction sheet.

*uses air pressure in the bike tyre to push the clean fluid through the system, very clever method but you need to make sure all the connectors are air tight before you start.
