Just had a full service on the Avalanche, including a service on my SPuDs, new cable and outer to the rear mech and a new inner tube....

including collection and delivering back to my house, which is 5 miles from their shop....

the price....

prepare yourselves.....

£40

Why would I ever want to work on my own bikes again!

Just popped up to mine while the mrs was at the simming pool and they just started getting to work cleaning my discs and re-jigging them, cleaned out the hubs and sorted out the freewheel for...wait for it...

....nothing!

That's why they are my lbs.

:D

Damn it!

I'm going to print this thread off and show them how they should treat their customers.

Charging is clearly soooo last year!

coz I'm such a skinflint I do all my stuff myself...haven't got the hang of bleeding (that's the verb not the expletive!) disc brakes yet though. That's the only thing I've had done recently at my LBS. Cost a tenner.

I must admit, I'm a bit rusty at bike maintenance

My Dad and I used to do all the bike repairs and maintenance BITD, but I have forgotten quite a few bits!

Its slowly coming back though....

(hence me quizing you at the Ale Wobble Ed about steerer tubes, before having the confidence to cut mine down when I got home!!!)

My bikes go to my LBS for everything! Im crap at maintenance aswell!
I never pay anything for fitting or servicing, simply just pay for parts, and at a discount too :D
Really they are the best LBS ive ever been to...even go riding with them from time to time.

After over 12 years of working on military and civil aircraft, working on bikes is a doddle (most of the time).

its funny when you can do mechanical stuff its weird people cant! but then i have no musical skill at all horses for courses innit!
