My first 'Dale - 1989 SM2000 maybe?

I bought a Cannondale this afternoon. My first. Here it is after getting it home and giving it a quick wash.

It looks like an SM2000 from 1989 - but it has extended rear dropouts, the bar is a Cannondale branded Easton, the saddle is a Cannondale leather item (date stamped 7/87), and that black to white fade is a wrap around decal.

I'd be happy to hear the thoughts of our resident Cannondale experts. :D

UPDATE: Just found the 1990 catalogue - it's a 1990 SM1000.

I like that frame a lot. It was a fast little bike as I use to get dropped by a guy who had one BITD on some trails we use to frequent. I was riding a nimble little Nishiki Cascade at the time but the Dale was on another level. Nostalgic!

Re:

So cool and one of the most iconic Cannondale color… 8)
Yours is a 1990 SM1000 (90 for the rear droppout and 1000 for the DX groupo)
For 90, the SM2000 was blue metallic fade with purple decals

Re:

Unfortunately, it's a little on the small side for me. :(

As I collect old bikes to ride, I might have to let it go.

I've left a post in the 'How much is my bike worth' thread, but does anyone have a clue as to its value?

Don't worry, I won't be splitting it.
