My fav bike - love it or not it turns heads

My creation. Adapted it for modern use.

The frame has a full set of Nervex lugs.
Think it's from 1958 ish SRAM BB and chainset. Full set of Mavic pro laced with 105 hubs and Continental Ultra Sport 25c. Shimano Tiagra full groupset including STi levers.
Dia Compe dual pivots with XLC red anodised pads that are superb.
Black Force Carbon forks.
Cane Creek headset.
Currently sporting a San Marco Rolls saddle.

I detailed the lugs in a copper/bronze effect and then lacquered them to bring them up.

Managed to source Nervex decals from Nick Lloyd.

It's quick and agile probably due to the steel frame.

Won't say how much it cost to put together but as you can imagine it cost me a few bob!

I'm thinking of selling it as I want to restore my Bob Griffin road bike so alas it may have to go!

Couldn't agree more. I imagine the original frame builder would be delighted to spot it in the street and see that it's still providing valued service after all these years.

As said earlier, if it extends the use of a quality frame then good work, not one for the purists but I like it.

Ok, I'm being petty now but lets get down to semantics, how does 'modern use' differ from any other use of a bike?

This. I'd go with silver and tan/leather build kit. Black looks weird on retro road bikes.
