trying to speak to EDF Energy and, after being disconnected twice, have been put in a queue.. 12minutes so far

Got a call from our current landlord.. he has taken the gas/leccy out of my name and put it into his..
Didn't think someone could do that without my knowledge/permission.... soon find out I suppose - if the batteries in my phone last that long

Well.. just in case anyone's interested.. there's nothing to stop an energy account from being taken out of your name and put in someone elses..

20 minutes on hold sucked too. . . .

Not nearly as much as finding out that the landlord came in to the house this morning, while we were out, and took meter readings though....

Presumably that's only the case in the very specific case of the account being in the name of a tenant and moving to the property owner. Your landlord sounds a bit random, though ;)

Yes he needs to ask you for access unless the meter is in a communal area. If the bill is in his name he can ask for the meter to be changed to a prepay, I think you want citizens advice for this one so you can be prepared.

It's not legal for him to come in without our permission but the repercussions aren't worth the hassle of doing owt - especially since we're out in a week.
The energy account.. perfectly ok..

In all fairness it works in the old account holders favour since they cease to be liable for the bills.
The meters are pre-payment though so we'll just give him the cards when we move.

Random... yes... and very unstable with a history of violence (just the one incident against me and the Wife though)..

I would ensure that a couple of mackerel are hidden in the house somewhere prior to leaving............  ......do it Ian......go on.... 8)

One too many :(

Yeah.. but we weren't hurt.. problem is it would be stupid of me to have a fight, inevitably I'd be hospitalised - I'm not 100% structurally stable..

The backlash of having him arrested would have been much worse than a good kick-in..

We're out of here in a week and will never have to see or speak to him, his skanky wife or vermin friends again..

if he gets funny giving you the bond back, tell him sommat went missing whilst he went in there. Otherwise, I agree, let it ride
