I lost my dog at the end of november, to cancer, he was a 9 1/2 year old boxer

but today we went to see some boxer puppies, and are getting another dog, they are nearly 3 weeks at the minute... so I have a wait, but I am going back next wekend to see them again (and weekend after etc )

not a replacement for Barney, but it'll be nice to come home to a dog again, even with wife and 2 kids in the house it still isn't the same

As you say they are never a replacements are they?

I am picking our new friend up in a couple of weeks.She is a 12 monthe old rescue cat. we lost Felix the cat a few weeks ago and we are looking forward to having a cat on our laps again.

we thought of going for a rescue, but with 2 kids... 3 and 7 didn't want to inherit any issues...

good luck with the cat!, but cats just sort of agree to live in your house with you I reckon

Yes cats are their own bosses!

The reason we are getting another cat is to keep our dogs in order!!

im now with german shepard no:3 bob after i had to put no:2 down i though never again but the house felt to quite with only the cat (nightmare and bob's boss) we got him 3 years ago soft as anything and always has a toy in his mouth ready to play i know the feeling but that boxer pup looks to cute and fuzzy

I know how you feel,after i lost my mog i swore i'd not have another as one cannot replace the other[i suppose it can really]

My sister got a second hand cat and although it was the most lively in the home ,it has done sod all but sleep and eat since she got it
Not very affectionate either

I might get a dog though it's the getting up early to take said dog for pee that puts me off
That and having to handle dog poo

It's when you pick your kid up and he pukes all over your face that things get bad.... :shock:
