My 1994 Kona Hei Hei updated on a very TIGHT budget

Here are some pictures of my old school 1994 Kona Hei Hei titanium bike. I purchased this bike about a month for a great deal. I ended up removing the decals (wrong decals) and spent approximately $180.00 CAD replacing some of the parts such as the seatpost, saddle, stem, v brakes/levers,pedals and handlebars. The pictures are the result of the Hei Hei updated on a very tight budget.

Hi edo747!

Nice Kona improvements you did there.

Good choice on the stem and seatpost. Not so sure about the saddle colour though (but that's a matter of personal preference anyway...).
A further improvement IMHO would be shortening the rear brake cable housing and swapping the stem cap for a black one.

Is the Hei Hei decal original? Serial Number?

Have fun with your new rig and happy trails!

Thanks Dan...I was thinking of putting some old school parts for the stem like Syncros or Control Tech but when I saw the Thomson Stem for $40.00 CAD and the seatpost for $30.00 CAD, I couldn't pass them up. As for the saddle...this is just a temporary saddle for now until I source another Flite saddle (black). Unfortunately, the original Flite saddle that came with the bike was butchered by the previous owner. He tried to re-cover the seat but did such a poor job that the staples are sticking out of the base of the seat. As for the decal, the HEI HEI decal is original and the serial # is B18187...Many thanks again Dan!

BTW...the cable for the rear brake has been shortened and for the headseat, a Chris King headseat is in the works.

Cheers,
Ed
