Mutiple splatter paint kona content, page 18/19 for latest builds

Re:

The forgotten splatter paint Kona has resurfaced from the loft,2 years it's been up there
I've been in and out the loft loads lately clearing boxes of stuff and kept seeing it hanging up gathering dust doing nothing, only thing i've done to it is paint the forks.
The more boxes of parts i opened the more i was thinking that would be good on the fire mountain, which eventually led to sod it i'm going to build it

First ideas is everything black and more black apart from the wheels :)

The frame is in excellent condition just needs a really good clean and with doing that i'll be able to try and match the pink splatter for the forks a bit better.
I want the bars and stem resprayed black after that i might get carried away with the black spray can and see what i end up with :D

I'm quite looking forward to this should be fun

How's the Explosif coming on :)

It's on standby at the minute,i can't make up my mind how i want to build it :) plus i keep missing out wheels i spot on eBay
First was XT M737,then i decided M900 XTR,then M950 for the colour and now i'm thinking maybe Suntour

Re:

The lights fading but thought i'd have a quick look with some parts on.
I've gave the bars and stem a first coat and i had some black Deore crankarms spare so gave them a respray,. Also in the boxes there was some black biopace chainrings which i'll clean and respray aswell as the Dia Compe u brake.
I'm not gonna use the XT rear mech i've sprayed black on this but i've got a bike which i might though :)
What i'm going to do though is spray black some spare Deore mechs i have and use them.

So far so good :D

Time to start the build on this unusual early 1989 Cindercone, first up is to get the bb out and remove the headset then remove those stickers and give it a good wash and polish. From experience the paint Kona used back then normally comes up really well, especially the white.
Looking at the splatter it clearly has never had the Kona decals on and it's never been repainted, what was yellow always turns to a mustard colour over all the years,so that's interesting why they done that. 🧐 Also with the forks having the project two decals on and splatted over it makes me believe that possibly all the forks were done separately.
Looking forward to restoring it should turn out a good one 😊
