muddyfox seat post diameter

anyone happen to know the diameter of my seat post, from a 1980's muddyfox explorer. I don't have any vernier calipers to hand. Cheers.

My Dads 88 Explorer (yellow) is 26.6

Thanks for that. Mine's yellow too but not sure if it's an '88, it's probably the same size but I'd better get it checked before spending what's left of my disposable income.

It's a thing of beauty!

My seatpost measured 26.2 made by Motobecane.

I think my bike is earlier than your Dads. The rectangular transfers, the lugwork around the headtube and the stronglight chainset, date mine a little before 1988 (please correct me if I'm wrong)

Ahh, I remember seeing this one on the bay . Its very nice and it is earlier than my old boys, His did have a MF oval chainset that was K'd and suntour accushift shifters that had seen better days so I robbed my spares and Shimano'd it as you see above.

Your old post should say what size it is stamped by the limit mark.

yeah it was stamped with the size, but was so badly scored (not sure why) that only the first digit, 2 could be read.
